Case Management Services — Certified case managers, all of who are Licensed Social Workers, provide in-home visits to anyone 60+ living in Washington County who needs assistance. The case managers help seniors (and their families) determine what type of help is needed and then connect them to the programs that will meet their needs, as well as provide information about all types of services, programs, benefits, and supports. Case management services are provided at no cost to the consumer and are available during regular business hours, with office or in-home service provided if deemed necessary by the WCCOA. We can also assist with AARP Tax Aide questions.
Caregiver Services — The WCCOA recognizes that family, friends, and neighbors provide the majority of care to our community’s frail older adults and that care giving can be both joyful and stressful. To help with issues confronting caregivers, we offer information and referral, specialized case management, educational materials, home adaptations, and in-home services. To help caregivers who are unavailable during the day, we offer extended hours by telephone and by appointment.
Medical Equipment — The Loan Closet program accepts donations of durable medical equipment, such as walkers, wheelchairs, tub seats, portable commodes, and canes/crutches in good condition and loans them out, free of charge, to Washington County seniors who need them. We also receive and distribute items such as Depends and Ensure.
Information and Assistance — During office hours, a WCCOA Resource Specialist is available to answer questions and provide information about age-related topics, including senior services, programs, and benefits; care giving; and all other aging-related topics. You may either call us or come into our office to speak with a Resource Specialist.
In-home and Emergency Alert Services — The WCCOA offers many additional services including housekeeping, assistance with bathing, personal care, pest control, respite and provision of home supplies. In addition, the WCCOA provides Emergency Alert Response systems that can be used to automatically notify authorities in the event of an emergency. Please contact the WCCOA for further information.
